Gus Hansen, Danish professional poker player, has been appointed as the first brand ambassador for the Full Tilt Poker brand. PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker’s former rival and present owner, is making preparations to re-launch the online poker giant in Nov 6.
PokerStars is giving its new acquisition a complete makeover not only to make it attractive to online poker players, but also to clean it of the stigma attached to it after the events of Black Friday, the day on which the US federal government cracked down on Full Tilt Poker, PokerStars, and Absolute Poker and turned them out of the US online poker market. Appointing Gus Hansen as Full Tilt Poker’s brand ambassador is part of this makeover.
Gus Hansen has won several World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) and World Poker Tour (WPT) bracelets and his presence at Full Tilt Poker will present the online poker as a reliable online poker brand over the next few months.
Hansen, who is now 38 years old, has earned over $11.2 million so far playing poker tournaments alone. The poker gaming community considers him to be a top poker player, who has become immensely famous winning live cash poker games and online as well as offline poker tournaments.
Expressing his feelings, Hansen said that he is very excited about representing one of the best poker brands in the industry, adding that Full Tilt Poker offers the best online poker games, innovative poker software, and a thriving online poker community. As he used to be part of Full Tilt Pro during the online poker room’s good days, he said, “To me, this feels like coming home.”
Sarne Lightman, marketing head for Full Tilt Poker, says that he is happy about Hansen being the brand ambassador. He said, “Gus has always embodied the best characteristics of the Full Tilt Poker brand and we are thrilled to have him return as an ambassador.”
Full Tilt Poker will be re-launched all over the world, except in France, US, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Denmark, and Estonia, on Nov 6. Existing Full Tilt Poker players as well as those who choose to sign up can rest assured that they now have a high quality online poker product backed by the integrity of PokerStars. Lightman has hinted that the online poker room will launch lucrative promotions in the near future.
With the re-launch of Full Tilt Poker, poker players worldwide will finally get back their money.
