A new program on GGPoker will give unlucky players some sort of a second chance to recover from unfortunate spots. The online poker site has launched “GGCare” to cushion the blow for players experiencing bad beats, coolers, or suckouts in cash games. Players can take advantage of the program beginning January 1, 2021.
What Is GGCare?
Under the GGCare program, players who have been unlucky playing cash games during the day will automatically earn free entry into a $30,000 freeroll the next day. GGPoker will identify qualified players through its built-in system that is capable of analyzing hand outcomes at cash game tables.
Each day, GGPoker will host a $30,000 GGCare Flipout, where qualified players can win a share of $30,000 in cash, which will be given away on a daily basis. That means nearly $1 million is up for grabs via the GGCare program every month!
The program covers all cash games at GGPoker, including Spin & Go, All-In or Fold, Short Deck, Hold’em, Omaha, and Rush & Cash.
Players will compete for even more in the future as GGPoker intends to go beyond $30K as things progress. Moreover, the online poker site is also considering adopting the program in tournaments.
According to Steve Preiss, Head of Poker Operations at GGPoker, the new program is their own effort of attracting more new players into the game and expanding the reach of poker as a whole.
How To Qualify
To earn automatic registration into the $30,000 freeroll, the player must be in some unlucky spots, such as getting a bad beat, experiencing coolers, or suffering suckouts. The exact details that trigger these bad luck scenarios differ with each game and are affected by a number of outside factors. Therefore, GGPoker won’t be enumerating the specific conditions, but will continue to identify more trigger points going forward.
The amount of stack assigned to each qualified player will depend on the pot size and the severity of the situation. The online poker site will use a formula for this and will continuously optimize it so every player is treated fairly based on the situation they’re in.
The player will accumulate additional chips every time they encounter unlucky spots. Meaning, if you suffer bad beats, suckouts or coolers more than once, your starting chipstack will increase accordingly.
Since the tournament is played in flipout format, each player is pushed all-in each hand. As a result, a winner is declared in less than a minute. The nature of the tournament eliminates the need for players to go online to participate or even register, as everything is automated and players are not required to make decisions while the tournament is in progress.
Players may check their GGCare hands via the PokerCraft Timeline. Upon the conclusion of each flipout tournament, cash will be awarded immediately. Results will be posted in the PokerCraft Timeline and in the My Tournaments tab as well.
Unlucky scenarios cannot be avoided and are part of the game, but it’s great to know that operators are stepping up and doing their part to alleviate the burden on players. With GGPoker’s new GGCare promotion, players can worry less about experiencing bad luck while playing cash games!
GGPoker Keeps the Ball Rolling
GGPoker is currently the third largest online poker site in the world based on player traffic. It made waves this year for holding record-breaking tournaments, and even landed a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records for smashing the record for the single biggest prize pool for an online poker tournament (World Series of Poker Main Event, $27,559,500).
It’s partnership with the WSOP paved the way for some of the biggest tournaments in online poker history. Since the lockdown period, when online poker traffic reached its peak, GGPoker has managed to maintain the momentum by coming out with exciting promotions and tournaments.
The site is currently giving away over $6 million in cash prizes via the December Cash Giveaway which ends on December 31.
