The 2021 World Series of Poker (WSOP) live festival at the Rio in Las Vegas is almost over, culminating in the Main Event which is set to crown a winner on November 17. But WSOP action doesn’t stop there, as there will be another huge event to look forward to over the next few weeks.
The WSOP Europe will kick off on November 19 at the King’s Resort in Rozvadov, Czech Republic, with 15 gold bracelets to be won. The festival returns after taking a break for a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The series will be headlined by the €10,350 Main Event which gets underway on December 3. Like the previous editions, the tournament sports a massive guarantee of €5 million. Those keen on entering the event for a fraction of the price can take a shot at satellites currently running on GGPoker as part of the operator’s Road to WSOP Europe promotion.

Win A Main Event Seat For Only €25 at GGPoker

For as little as €25, players can secure a seat into the Main Event via dozens of satellites running each day on the site. GGPoker is WSOP’s official partner and the only way for players to earn a ticket into the Main Event is via the site, according to John Scanlon, GGPoker’s Director of Live Events & Sponsorships.
Scanlon is hopeful that many GGPoker players will be able to compete in the festival which is one of the best live events on the poker calendar.
GGPoker’s Road to WSOP Europe promotion is underway and is currently open-ended. The operator ran a similar campaign for the 2021 WSOP in Las Vegas wherein it sent some 250 players to the $10,000 Main Event. The players earned their seats through a mix of direct buy-ins, satellites, and promos.
It must be noted that under the Road to WSOP Europe promo, the prize will only include the €10,350 entry fee, meaning players will have to shoulder the costs of their travel and accommodation. This is in contrast to the Vegas campaign wherein players won all-inclusive packages worth $12,500, covering the $10,000 Main Event buy-in and other expenses.
GGPoker’s newly-launched sweepstakes online poker site ClubGG also got involved in the Vegas promo, with US players winning Main Event tickets through the app. It remains unclear whether ClubGG will also participate in the Road to WSOP Europe campaign.
Since the promotion began, 20 Main Event tickets have already been won, and dozens more are expected to be awarded in the weeks ahead.
WSOP Europe Main Event tickets are non-transferable and not for sale. Extra tickets won will be converted to tournament dollars. The full schedule of daily feeder events and steps tournaments is available on the GGPoker website.

High Hopes for 2021 WSOP Europe

The WSOPE was last held in 2019, with the Main Event awarding €5.1 million in total prize pool, after attracting 541 entrants, making it the second-largest Main Event in the festival’s history. Alexandros Kolonias from Greece won the event for €1,133,678.
The reopening of the live poker scene in Europe and across the world is still faced with challenges with the pandemic still positing a threat to everyone’s health and safety.
But the WSOP is optimistic that the Europe event will still attract a significant number of participants, with players showing eagerness to return to live action. This is reflected in the decent turnouts attracted by major WSOP events at the Rio, such as the $400 Colossus which pulled in nearly 9,500 players.
Many European players were also not able to compete at the live festival in Las Vegas owing to travel issues, so they will most likely take a shot at the coveted gold bracelets in their own soil.
