According to G-poker, which can be accessed at www.g-poker.ca, the US federal crackdown on Full Tilt Poker, Absolute Poker, and PokerStars has had an adverse effect on the poker players of Canada. So far, as per a sponsorship deal signed between Miriam Foundation and Full Tilt Poker, the online poker room was the sponsor for the Montreal Open, the largest charity poker tournament in Canada. However, shortly after the Montreal Open came to an end, the US federal government cracked down on Full Tilt Poker, as a result of which the winners of the charity poker event are left wondering if they will ever receive their prize money.

Speaking on the situation, Jeremy Taylor of G-poker said, “The Montreal Open situation is complex. It involves a charity that does great work in Canada, so nobody wants to demand their winnings at the foundation’s expense. It’s a question of who is liable to cover for Full Tilt if they won’t pay players as promised.”

Currently, Full Tilt Poker is up to its ears in various financial and legal problems. Meanwhile, one of the event managers responsible for the Montreal Open has organized a brand new charity live poker event, which is scheduled to be held in Montreal March end, and the sponsor of this new event is going to be Party Poker. The funds raised will be given to Jodi Lazarus Fund for Hereditary Breast Cancer Research.

Taylor further said, “Party Poker has long been a favorite online poker site in Canada, and their contribution to the community is a reflection of their commitment. The Montreal Party Poker Classic is a way for poker fans to get involved, and possibly win a seat to the World Poker Tour.”

The Montreal Party Poker Classic can make several dreams come true. For instance, players who want to participate in a prestigious live poker tournament, but are not able to afford the buy-in, can qualify online for the same at Party Poker.

According to Taylor, 888 Poker and Party Poker are excellent for Canadian players because they can help put many ambitious Canadian poker players on the way to poker success and fame. 888 Poker is a paradise of opportunities for online poker players to qualify for prestigious live poker tournaments and win prize packages to top poker events such as the World Series of Poker 2013. There are plenty of online poker opportunities for Canadian players, says Taylor.
