GGPoker now becomes the first online poker room to offer a whopping $100 Million guarantee in a single tournament series, as it plays host to the World Series of Poker Super Circuit Online Series. The schedule for the massive festival has finally been released, featuring nearly 600 tournaments, 18 of which will award a WSOP Circuit gold ring – one of poker’s most-coveted accolades. This online tournament will run from May 3 to 31.
GGPoker Head Jean-Christophe Antoine is very excited about this $100 million-guaranteed festival and believes that it will be a game-changer in the world of poker. In terms of prize money on offer, the WSOP Super Circuit Online Series now surpasses the $85 million-guaranteed 2020 Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP), an upcoming major online festival sponsored by the world’s largest online poker site PokerStars.
With online poker currently enjoying an unprecedented boom as a result of the massive cancellation of major poker events all over the world brought about by the coronavirus pandemic, GGPoker is among the best places to be in these days for players chasing for huge winnings and life-changing tournament glory.
WSOP SCOS Main Highlights
The 18 Circuit ring events are the main highlights of the massive festival, featuring combined guarantees of $28 million. Two of these events — the $1,000 Main Event, and the $25,000 High Roller Championship – will award the largest prizes.
The $1,000 Main Event will kick off on May 9, running through to May 31, with a total of 78 starting flights, featuring regular, turbo, and hyperturbo formats. The Main Event carries a massive guarantee of $5 million!
Nosebleed action awaits high-stakes players in the $25,000 High Roller Championship, which takes place on May 17. The event will give away $10 million in guaranteed prizes!
Another key highlight of the festival is the $1,111 Covid Charity event, which is also the first Circuit ring event on the schedule. Of the $1,111 tournament fee, $1,000 will serve as the buy-in, while the extra $111 will go directly towards the Nevada COVID-19 Task Force, a public-private partnership comprised of business leaders and community members who are currently assisting the state’s response, relief and recovery efforts.
As usual, the WSOP will give away two seats to the $1M GTD Global Casino Championship (a bracelet event) which will take place in August. The seats will be awarded to the winner of the Main Event, and the player who accumulates the highest number of points in the Super Circuit Leaderboard.
