The first PokerStars Festival event of 2017 is going to be held at the Hippodrome Casino. Located at London’s West End, the casino is among the biggest in the United Kingdom and regularly attracts top poker stars from both United Kingdom and Europe.

Formerly the home of the UK & Ireland Poker Tour, Hippodrome has now formed a partnership with the largest poker site in the world, PokerStars. The casino will now serve as the host for some of the top live poker festivals of the region, in addition to regular cash games and tournaments. The upcoming poker fest is part of the rollout of PokerStars’ new format for its live events.

The PokerStars Festival London will run between Jan. 23 and Jan. 29, and host nine tournaments with the headline event being the £400,000 guaranteed Main Event. Other tournaments include the £275 Super Deep tournament which kicks the festival off, the PokerStars Super Deep, the £2,200 High Roller, the NL Hold’em Ladies Event and the Turbo Deepstack UKIPT Edition.

Additionally, three games are being held under the StarsFun brand which are the StarsFun Roulette Tournament, StarsFun Blackjack Tournament and StarsFun Craps Tournament, all of which have a buy-in of £120. These will be taking place at the Lola’s Underground Casino located inside the Hippodrome.

Cash games will be running round-the-clock. They will available in two versions – one £1/£3 no-limit hold’em version having a sit down of £150 minimum and maximum £1,000 and a £2/£5 no-limit hold’em Deep Stack version having with a £500 minimum buy-in but no maximum. A special event Cash Race will be held on Jan. 11 that will award £4,000 in PokerStars Festival London tournament credits.

Online qualifiers are ongoing at PokerStars for those hoping to win an entry ticket to the tournament. Hippodrome has also announced that its usual events the UKIPT Series and Hippodrome Classics will be replaced with a new offering called the PokerStars London Series.

Through 2017, the casino will host five editions of PokerStars London Series each spread over two days. Each event will have a buy-in of £275 giving players 25,000 chips, and a play of 30-minute levels during Day 1 and then 40-minute levels on Day 2.

The first one of these will be held between March 3-5 and other scheduled dates are April 7-9, May 26-28, Oct. 6-8, and finally, Nov. 10-12. In addition, a PokerStars London Super Series will be held between Aug. 30 and Sept. 4. Further information on these events will be released in due course.
