Some of the exciting events that will feature on the EPT Barcelona tour include the NL -Hold’em – €10,000 + €300; Super High Roller – €48,500+ €1,500; Estrellas Main Event – €1,000 + €100; EPT Main Event – €5,000 + €300; PokerStars Open – €200 + €20 and the EPT High Roller – €10,000 + €300. The tournament will be sponsored by PokerStars who is also hosting a number of satellite events which have extremely low buy-ins starting at just €10.
PokerStars has also put together a special EPT Barcelona package that is valued at €9,000 and can be won playing EPT Barcelona Spin & Go’s at the PokerStars website. The package includes a seat at the €5,300 Main Event and €3,700 for travel and accommodation. The Casino Barcelona is the only casino in Barcelona and is located very close to the beach, making it an exciting stop for poker players both on and off the felt.
In a statement, Matthias De Meulder said “The timing and setting of the event are perfect. Summer time in Barcelona alone is great, then on top of it there are poker tournaments all day every day taking place for ten plus days straight. The tournaments are big and known to be less tough than similar events elsewhere. I have been making pretty good money there.”
Wheeler also chipped with advice for those poker players who are visiting EPT Barcelona for the first time. He stated that things can be quite intimidating at EPT Barcelona with long registration lines and limited table space. Wheeler advised players to register online for the event and pick up their tickets before the casino opens or closes as the queues are a lot less.
