Payments company MuchBetter in partnership with some of the most well-known Twitch streaming personalities is giving poker fans the once-in-a-lifetime chance to travel to Barcelona or London to play with their poker heroes.
MuchBetter is sponsoring the Summer Series, the first social online poker tournament of its kind, bringing the poker community closer together through a series of games this summer. The biggest live poker streamers of this generation have created their own clubs, enabling them to play against their followers. The winners will ultimately take home a seat to the European Poker Tour (EPT) in Barcelona, as well as the Lex Live 2 in London, taking place in October and September of this year, respectively.
Fans Play Against Their Idols
Through PokerStars’ Home Game platform, the streamers were able to form their own poker clubs, which will compete for the grand final. Each club is listed below, with its corresponding captain:
Lex “RaSZi” Veldhuis leads Beaker Army; Eva “EVAisOP” Reberc captains Team OP; Ben “Spraggy” Spragg’s leads the Spraggy’s Un-named Team; Arlie Shaban heads The Shabanimals; Fintan Hand captains ATP Rovers; and Felix Schneiders takes charge of Grnd empire.
The action will be spread across four game weeks in July and August, during which the 600 Grand Final participants will be determined. They will be comprised of 100 players from each club. All five streamers will run a mini-league for four weeks on the PokerStars’ Home Game platform.
Exciting Prizes Await Winners
Huge prizes will go towards the final eight players in the tournament, with the winner earning a full EPT Main Event package worth €9000, including accommodation and expenses. The runner-up along with players who finish in third and fourth place will also win an EPT Barcelona Main Event seat worth €5300, plus €1,200 in expenses.
A seat at Lex Live 2 in London, including travel and hotel expenses plus surprise VIP experience will go towards players who finish in fifth, sixth and seventh place. The player finishing in eighth place takes home a Sunday Million Ticket worth €98, plus £250 deposited on their MB account.
Those making it to the top 3 of each game week will also receive Grand Final bonus chips. Apart from this, exciting community prizes will also await players who manage to beat the team captains in the respective mini league.

The complete registration details, and the full terms of the MuchBetter Summer Series is available here.
Back to Basics
Commenting on the tournament, MuchBetter co-founder and CEO Israel Rosenthal said that while the poker community has rapidly grown to such a degree that players can now travel anywhere and compete with anyone, the future of poker also involves returning to its home game roots where players compete in small community tournaments and private games such as the Summer Series.
As part of its commitment to be part of the global poker community and give players the chance to play poker with their heroes, MuchBetter made the decision to sponsor the Summer Series. The tournament will enable players to win a poker trip of a lifetime for as low as $10.
Lex Veldhuis who is a member of PokerStars Pro Team Online and one of the more popular poker streamers said his followers will surely be delighted to know that they can now play against him in a private game. While the Dutch poker pro is happy that his fans have been given the chance to beat him, he won’t give in that easily as he also has a goal in mind. He also wants to win the tournament as much as anyone.
The top 25 players from each home game will qualify for the Grand Final which takes place on August 11.
