Dan Bilzerian, the self-proclaimed “king of Instagram”, professional poker player and serial gambler is at it again. The high stakes poker player has now put his G4 private jet on the line for his latest bet. Bilzerian made a lot of news in March when news broke of his million dollar bet with fellow poker player and hedge fund manager Bill Perkins, when he accepted Perkins challenge of doing a 300-mile ride from LA to Vegas through the Mojave Desert on a bicycle in less than 48 hours.
Bilzerian wagered $600,000 and Perkins another $600,000 putting $1.2 million on the line for this crazy dare. However, the bet has become even more insane after it was reported that Bilzerian got into a side bet with another high-stakes poker player Rick Salomon and wagered his private G4 jet. Bilzerian appears to be pretty confident about his chances of winning as he will get only $250,000 from Salomon if he wins but will have to give away his private jet if he loses.

While this LA to Las Vegas dare keeps getting crazier with every passing week, there is a catch to the G4 jet. Salomon only gets the jet after Bilzerian’s death so he does not have to part with the jet right away if he loses. Bilzerian has posted quite a few pictures on instagram of him taking cycling lessons from Lance Armstrong. Should Bilzerian lose this bet, it would be the second biggest loss as his most expensive loss was based on the result of a coin toss for a massive $2.3 million.
While the race is admittedly tough and Bilzerian has admitted not riding a bicycle in years, he has been training hard and will be accompanied by two chefs, a masseuse, doctor, bike mechanic, army of assistants and a full police escort. Bilzerian has taken the bet very seriously and has reportedly spent over $100,000 on the whole preparation.
This is a genuine risk for Dan who has had three heart attacks before, however the added health risk has only increased the interest of the media and public for this dare. Dan claims to have been through a grueling training regimen that has resulted in him losing six pounds in the process.
The race is being covered by a number of gossip sites and there are reportedly many side bets being made by a number of people in and out of the poker community. Bilzerian has also been hyping the event on his Twitter and Instagram accounts which have millions of followers.
