According to the latest announcement, Dag Palovic, one of the most successful professional poker players of Slovakia, has become a part of Team PokerStars Pro, and is the newest player in the team.
Palovic, who is now 35 years of age and resides in Bratislava, was a highly renowned TV personality before he decided to become a professional poker player. In the mid-eighties, he played roles in a large number of Slovak movies; and from 1996 to 2004, he became a music presenter.
Palovic made a dramatic entry into the poker world only in 2007. During the past 3 – 4 years, he has created a huge bankroll of $774,647 playing prestigious live tournaments. Palovic is also the author of “How to Become a Poker Pro,” the first ever poker book in Slovakia.
Many in the poker gaming world, however, are not surprised with Palovic’s dramatic rise to poker success, fame, and wealth because he belongs to Mensa, a high IQ society. The poker player is blessed with a very sharp mind and has mastery over Czech, English, Slovak, German, French, and Russian.
Palovic has tasted success ever since he turned to playing poker tournaments. In 2007, he participated in the European Poker Tour (EPT) Prague and finished seventh with a prize of $137,151. In 2008, he added a huge sum of $190,770 to his bankroll; and in 2009, he became richer by another $89,628.
Popularly known by his poker handle “Lucky D,” Palovic has so far never experienced bad luck. This year has been his best year, and he has added $357,098 to his total winnings, having won prestigious events such as Evian Poker Open and Red Sea Poker Cup. What’s more, Palovic has also finished 27th at the Main Event of World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2010, winning a substantial amount of $206,395. Today, Palovic has 5 WSOP cashes to his credit, which amount to $268,826 of his total tournament winnings of $774,647.
The icing to the cake of Dag Palovic’s achievement is his joining Team PokerStars Pro as its sponsored poker professional, which means that Palovic’s luck continues to hold. Reacting to the latest development, he said that he considers it a great opportunity to play as the sponsored professional player of the world’s largest online poker site. He also expressed hopes of improving his future poker results by turning out to be an excellent, top quality member of Team PokerStars.
