Poker Hall of Famer and 2003 WSOP Main Event champion has signed a deal with European e-wallet provider MuchBetter. The deal was made public earlier this month and the timing could not be better as the 2021 World Series of Poker (WSOP) is set to commence on 30 September at the Rio in Las Vegas, Nevada.
MuchBetter Than PayPal?
It’s interesting to see MuchBetter sign Chris Moneymaker as a brand ambassador. While both parties are yet to shed more light regarding the deal, the poker world is aware of the fiasco between Moneymaker and American e-wallet provider PayPal which took place earlier this year.
Moneymaker went after PayPal in May 2021 after he claimed that the payment provider seized $12,000 of his funds. He took to Twitter to let his followers know that PayPal had suddenly frozen his funds and was not very responsive when he tried to get in touch. Moneymaker hired top lawyer Eric Bensamochan to represent him and go after PayPal.
He also used social media to ask other PayPal users to come together if they felt that they were wrongly treated by PayPal. He threatened to file a class-action lawsuit against PayPal and the very next month he got his $12,000 reimbursed from PayPal. There was no explanation provided as to why PayPal reimbursed his account.
Moneymaker decided to take his name out of the class action lawsuit but promised PayPal that he would still go after them as over 50 individuals had reached out and complained about PayPal. We don’t have any update on that class action lawsuit but it looks like MuchBetter wanted to join forces with Moneymaker to show the poker community that the Poker Hall of Famer trusts them a lot more when compared to PayPal.
MuchBetter does not have a dominant presence in the U.S market but is widely used in Europe and is also making a push into Asia. It’s partnership with Moneymaker suggests that the European-based e-wallet is looking at making a bigger push in America and compete with PayPal for market share going forward.
While PayPal is adverse to working with online gaming sites, MuchBetter has adopted the opposite approach and is working with Moneymaker is a great way to appeal to the online poker community globally.
MuchBetter Runs $10,000 Moneymaker Promo
To promote its partnership with Moneymaker, MuchBetter is running a special promotion called the “MuchBetter Moneymaker Poker Experience!”  This is how you can take part in the promotion.
The first step is to go to the MuchBetter site and send them an email with your MuchBetter account phone number. You can do this via the registration button found at https://muchbetter.com/moneymaker/
The second step is to make a minimum deposit of $86 or the equivalent in any currency during the month of September. This deposit must be made to your MuchBetter account and then you need to use this money to make a deposit to any one of your favorite online gaming sites.
Once this is done, you are now part of the drawing to win the special Moneymaker promo package. Do note that after you deposit $86, an additional deposit during the month of September to MuchBetter will give you an additional entry into the competition. The more you deposit, the more entries you will get into the competition.
Competition Rules
The winner will not only get a $10,000 buy-in to the 2021 WSOP Main Event but also the chance to have personal online poker lessons with Moneymaker. Special tech gear will also be given away.
Three winners will be chosen on October 8 and they will be contacted via their MuchBetter phone number or email!
