This tournament has been one of the most anticipated in the poker calendar, right from the year of its launch. Notable poker pros such as Dan Harrington, Doyle Brunson, Josh Hale, Andy Frankenberger, and Will Failla have emerged as its champions in the past. The Bicycle Casino is also hosting the first two televised WPT Season XII tournaments.

The Legends of Poker Main Event, which happens to be a $3,700 buy-in NL Hold’em WPT Championship, begins on August 29. Professional poker players as well as those aspiring to be poker professionals will be fighting for their share of a huge prize pool worth $3 million. Those who do not want to pay the buy-in of $3,700 to the tournament can qualify for the same by taking part in $400 buy-in Mega Satellites. The final table of the event will be covered live on Fox Sports Net on September 4. The Legends of Poker Main Event is special because it attracts large crowds of poker enthusiasts from different parts of the world.

The event will be slightly different this year as it will not culminate with the traditional ceremony in which the WPT champion is crowned. Instead, the WPT Foundation Ladies’ Night Invitational will be played on September 5. The final table of this invitational event, which will feature the familiar faces of poker greats such as Lily Killetto, Vanessa Rousso, Liz Lieu, Kimberly Lansing, and Jessica Dawley, will be televised. A sixth female poker pro will also be taking part in this event, but only if she wins the LIPS US Ladies Poker Championship, a tournament qualifier that will be played on September 1. This qualifier will be held in association with the Ladies International Poker Series (LIPS), which gives participants the opportunity to play with Danielle Ruiz and Brittany Bell, the WPT Royal Flush Girls and win the bounty prizes associated with them.

The Ladies Night Invitational champion will get a free seat worth $25k to the WPT World Championship of 2014. Besides, the WPT Foundation will direct $20,000 of the proceeds to six women’s charities on behalf of each participant.

On August 25, Bicycle Casino will organize the Mariani/Buss Charity Poker Tournament, a $300+$65 NL Hold’em Re-buy tournament with a guaranteed prize of $20k, in which several poker players, celebrities, and athletes will take part.
