Bally Technologies Partners with Amaya Gaming

Amaya Gaming has signed an agreement with Bally Technologies, according to the terms of which, Amaya’s newly acquired Ongame Poker Network and its portfolio of casino games will be integrated into Bally’s gaming platform, permitting the latter to launch an intrastate online poker room in Nevada.

The first company to receive an online poker license in Nevada was Bally Technologies, and shortly after Bally got the license, International Game Technology (IGT) also received a license. While Bally had ample experience and an effective backend system, it lacked the required software platform to launch an online poker room. The agreement signed with Amaya is, therefore, a boon to Bally, enabling it to use Amaya’s Ongame Poker Network to launch a topnotch online poker product in Nevada.
The agreement makes Ongame the “preferred poker provider” of Bally Technologies, leaving Bally free to partner with other providers of poker gaming software solutions if it wishes. The agreement leaves Bally free to launch as many online poker products as it wants to.
Bally Technologies got into a deal with American Casino and Entertainment Properties LLC (ACEP) back in September 2012 to get an online poker gaming platform. ACEP is the owner of Stratosphere Casino, which is situated to the extreme north of the famous Las Vegas Strip. ACEP also used Ongame Poker Network to launch a new fun money online poker room in the US. Called AcePlay Poker, it allows players to use chips only to win prizes related to ACEP’s Stratosphere Casino.
Last week, ACEP, along with 3 other Nevada licensed companies, got a six-month extension to test their software. Darcy Krogh, the vice president (business development) of Amaya Gaming Group, said, “We are delighted to add Bally as a partner in the US Market. They are an established global brand with great customer reach in the land based gaming industry. The combination of Bally and Amaya should provide casino operators and their players many benefits of a strong strategic alliance, bringing state of the art poker and casino content to the market.”
John Connelly, the vice president (business development) for Bally, said, “Ongame is a world leader in the online poker space and we are excited to incorporate their best-in-class offering into the Bally iGaming platform. This relationship further validates the current transformation within the online gaming sector, which integrates traditional and online casino systems, allowing casino operators to protect their data, while offering their customers Best in Class content.”
