PokerRoom.com is having a Labor Day special promotion involving their single-table poker tournaments. From September 3rd to 5th, they will be having awarding points to STT finishers at the rate of 30 points for each STT win, 10 points for second and 15 points for a 5-handed STT win. At the end of the promotion, the top 10 players with the most points will be entered into a $20,000 added SNG with the following prize structure:

1. $5,000
2. $3,000
3. $2,300
4. $1,900
5. $1,700
6. $1,500
7. $1,300
8. $1,200
9. $1,100
10. $1,000

So, this is absolutely great for us single table tournament players at this site. The points are also awarded regardless of what buy-in the tournaments are, so for those hardcore poker players amongst you – good luck. I hope to see some of you get to this final table! 🙂

Lastly, if you haven't signed up with PokerRoom, use tightpoker.com's exclusive promotion code SAFARI to get a 50% bonus on your deposit. And yes, at PokerRoom, tournament play does count toward your raked hands.

Minor update to the bonus hunting guide, as feedback shows that it's no longer good for low limit players to bonus hunt at Caribbean Sun and InterPoker. In good bonus news however, Party Poker is now offering a a 20% up to $100 sign-up bonus (use bonus code 20EXTRA when signing up). They also have a 100% reload bonus, check out details here.

Been chilling out a bit more and just occupying myself with work lately and not much poker anymore as most of you have read. Was cool to play in the forum tournament again and seeing quite the turnout there.

Something that did make me feel pretty good about poker is that I talked to my bud Travis again today, whose blog I will continue to pimp, because he's awesome like that. He told me how much he was killing in the $30/60 and $20/40 game at Party Poker and it was my turn to be be impressed. He's making more than I did at the tables. That poker bastard. 🙂

On the upshot, he's still offering limit texas hold'em poker lessons, so any limit players out there should really take him up on the offer before he quits.

I'm slowly getting back into things here. I've tried concentrating to put my thoughts into my realistic poker odds page and hopefully got that through in a coherent fashion. I haven't been on the forums much except to make sure nothing is falling apart, but please post something in the general forum if you have questions or comments about the article. It's probably not going to have the effect of the theorem of blind stealing, but it should be somewhat of an eye opener.

For those who PM'ed me about the freeroll, I'm working on that and will be getting more information out soon. Also, before I forget, thanks to all of you, especially Scotty, for keeping things going smoothly in the forums.

Figure I should update the front page with a post that isn't a downer. Anyhow, I mentioned the 1,000 hand freeroll on Interpoker for those of you that signed up under the forum banners. If you have played the required hands, please PM me with your Interpoker name and I will add you to the list for the free roll. You have until next Friday to PM me with your details. If you are unsure if you are eligible to play in InterPoker's freeroll, PM me anyways and I can find out for you.

In other news, JP is taking off from the forums, so a big thanks to you JP for helping as much as you have. You will be missed and best wishes for you man.
