India’s leading online poker site Adda52 is once again partnering with the World Poker Tour (WPT) to host the second edition of WPT Online India. The massive tournament series kicked off on August 1 and will run through August 30, featuring Rs 25 Crore in guaranteed prizes, with Adda52 hosting the action.
There are over 800 events to choose from, catering to players of every level. They’ll be competing for a total of 45 prestigious WPT trophies, on top of huge prizes and other exciting perks. Let’s take a look at the main highlights of the massive festival.
WPT Unreal
Among the highlights of the festival is WPT Unreal, which comes with an entry fee of Rs 499, and a guarantee of Rs 1 Crore. The tournament features a total of 30 starting flights, giving Indian players plenty of chances to win a share of the massive guarantee on offer.
Survivors from all Day 1s will gather again on August 29 to play down to a winner. Apart from the top prize, the ultimate victor gets to take home a prestigious WPT trophy.
Players can also enter the tournament for a more affordable price by taking part in satellites running on Adda52. The site is also hosting freerolls awarding seats into the event.
WPT Main Event
Another not-to-be-missed event on the schedule is the WPT Main Event, which features a whopping Rs 3 Crore guarantee! The tournament, which costs Rs 16,500 to enter, has 10 Day 1s, running across eight days from August 22-29.
Freerolls and satellites are also running on Adda52, allowing players to win their way into the tournament for as low as Rs 66 or even for free! The site has also launched deposit offers and social contests which will award free seats into the massive event.
The final action will take place on August 29, during which a winner will be crowned. He or she will win a Hublot Classic Chronograph Titanium watch worth 5 Lac, a $5,000 WPT passport for WPT live events across the globe, Adda52 wallet credits valued at 1.5 Lac, and the highly-coveted Champions trophy. That’s on top of the huge top prize that the winner gets to take home.
The runner-up finisher isn’t left out either, as he or she will also be awarded with a WPT trophy.
Other trophy events included in the tight schedule are WPT Gladiator (Aug. 12), WPT India Super High Roller (Aug.12), WPT India Independence Day Special (Aug 15), WPT Deepstack (Aug 18), and WPT Quad 9 (Aug 22).
Apart from that, several sit-n-go tournaments have also been added into the mix, awarding huge prizes.
Stronger Partnership
Adda52’s partnership with the WPT dates back to 2016 when the online poker operator began hosting satellites and online qualifiers for WPT events. The collaboration allowed Indian players to showcase their skills in the international stage and take a shot at coveted titles and massive prizes associated with the WPT brand. The partnership also allowed the WPT to bring the WPTDeepStacks series to India, which made a debut at the luxurious Deltin Royale casino in November 17.
Last year, as major tournaments worldwide were moved to the virtual felts due to the pandemic, WPT joined forces with Adda52 for the inaugural WPT Online India. Adda52 played host to the series which ran from November 5-22, featuring 154 events with a combined guaranteed prize pool of INR 135 million. The festival was a huge success and now both companies are aiming to break the series’ own record with an even bigger 2021 edition.
WPT CEO Adam Pliska said WPT Online India represents a major success for the brand as it continues to expand its global footprint. Pliska said they’re looking forward to another successful event with Adda52.
