888poker Announces Kara Scott As New Poker Ambassador

888Poker recently announced that poker player and TV presenter Kara Scott has joined as its newest poker ambassador. Scott, a well-known poker pro and TV presenter was previously a brand ambassador for PartyPoker’s Team Party.
A very successful presenter, Scott has compered many popular poker shows including Poker Night Live, Sky Poker, High Stakes Poker, the EPT and the final table of the WSOP.

Originally from Canada, Scott has had a diverse career ranging from journalism, playing poker professionally to hosting poker tournaments. Scott has previously spent time in both the United Kingdom and United States but after getting married, decided to be based in Italy.
As a poker player she has total career prize money of around $643,880. She is most well-known for being the only woman to have cashed in back-to-back Main Events at the 2008 and 2009 WSOP Main Events. She also finished second at the €3,500 Main Event at the PaddyPower Irish Open in 2009, taking in winnings of €312,600($413,612). She has written regularly for industry magazines like UK PokerNews and CardPlayer Magazine.
Highlights of her TV presenter career include hosting GSN’s High Stakes Poker series where she would hold interview players during live play and bring also share her insights as a poker player. Another big achievement was becoming a part of ESPN’s coverage of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Events.
Scott said that she has always been interested in both the fun and the serious side of poker and being associated with 888poker was an exciting opportunity for her to further those ambitions.

Although often criticized for not being a serious poker player, Scott has said that she has enough achievements in her poker career to counter it. She was chosen to be the draft commissioner of the Global Poker League and also hosted the American Poker Awards. 888poker decided to celebrate her joining the team with a tournament called the $3,000 Welcome Kara Scott Free Tournament which had a $100 bounty on Scott.
