The 2017 World Series of Poker (WSOP) will start on May 30 and run for over 45 days and finish on July 17. The biggest and most popular poker tournament in the world will once again take place at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas and will feature a number of exciting events.

The WSOP recently released a list of its flagship events which have been scheduled to take place over the weekends to ensure that it draws as many player registrations as possible. The 2016 WSOP was a massive success drawing a total of 53,727 player registrations and tournament organizers are expecting a bigger turnout this year. There will be daily deep stack tournaments, cash games, satellite events and gold bracelet events scheduled throughout the 6 week tournament.

Some of the flagship events at the 2017 WSOP will include the $565 Casino Employees event take place on May 31; the $1,000 Seniors & Super Seniors scheduled for June 16 and 18; the $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em Tournament scheduled for June 18; the $10,000/$1,000 Ladies Championship    scheduled for July 7 where there is a 90 percent discount on the buy-in for ladies and the $1,500 Monster Stack that takes place on June 24 – 25.

One of the biggest events at the 2017 WSOP will be the Colossus III event which is being promoted as the world’s biggest live poker event. The event has seen a total of 43,987 player registrations during the last two years and had a prize pool of more than $10.8 million in 2016.  Colossus III will have one re-entry per flight and the eventual winner will walk away with $1 million in prize money. The event will take place between June 2 to 4.

Another guaranteed million dollar event is the Millionaire Maker which is scheduled to take place between June 10 – 11 and has a buy-in of $1,500. The 2016 edition of the Millionaire Maker had a guaranteed prize pool of $9.7 million and saw a total of 7,190 entries. There will also be a special Little One for One Drop charity poker event where the buy-in is $1,000 and will take place on July 11 – 13.

The highlight of the 2017 will be the Main Event which has a buy-in of $10,000 and starts on July 18. The final nine players, commonly referred to as the November Niners will be finalized on July 17. The WSOP will released a full schedule of events next month.
