World Poker Tour - 2004 Schedule

Although the WPT is a relative newcomer to the poker world, it is quickly becoming the household name associated with poker. Since the first episode of the World Poker Tour aired March 2003 on the Travel Channel, the WPT has seen strong ratings with over 900,000 viewers each night and an estimated 1.1 million viewers for the World Poker Tour Championship for the 1st season. The reruns on the Travel Channel have an estimated audience of 3 to 5 million viewers per show.

The World Poker Tour has been such a success that the WPT is currently filming its 2004 season and the Travel Channel has been granted five one-year options to renew its contract with the WPT. In addition, most online poker rooms have begun to offer satellite and super-satellite entries into WPT events.

It's amazing to think how popular the World Poker Tour has become in its first season. The 2004 season promises to be even bigger, with larger prizes than ever seen before, more players, professional and amateurs, and more tournaments.
