The Quick Summary
Titan Poker is on the iPoker Network. They recently banned US players so the traffic on the network has dropped significantly. They now average between 5-10,000 players on their network at any given time. Their software is solid with plenty of features. Titan has regular reloads and a VIP program that is fairly rewarding, so quite a few regular players make Titan their regular poker room.
Popularity: 6 of 10 - Good
If all you want to play is Texas Hold'em at low to medium limits, then Titan is decent. If you're looking to play higher limits or Omaha or 7 Card, then you are going to have trouble finding a game. The iPoker Network has a number of 'jackpot' SNG tables that get quite a bit of traffic, and have a very nice payday if you can manage to win 5 or more in a row. Titan's bonuses are difficult to clear, so if you play at one limit mainly, you will probably run into a lot of the same players. This can be good if they play the same style all the time, but you will have to keep changing your game to make sure that they can't catch on to your style.
Security: 5 of 10 - OK
Titan Poker is secured by 128-bit SSL technology, and it is certified by Digicert Security Services Inc. They are licensed by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission. Their shuffling system and Random Number Generators are not reviewed by any third party organizations.
Player Competition: 7 of 10 - Good
There are many loose players and fish that play at Titan. Unfortunately, there are also many tight players who grind out bonuses on the iPoker Network. As long as you are able to tell who is who and play accordingly, you should be able to make a nice profit from the fishy players while avoiding the rocks.
Site Software: 7 of 10 - Good
Titan Poker's software is solid with plenty of basic features, but nothing that really stands out. It was developed by Playtech Inc., one of the largest developers of online poker and casino software. They do not have a four color deck as an option, but the cards on the table are very large and well marked. Player names, stacks, and bets are clearly labled as well as the current pot size and total pot size. Hand histories are available instantly, and Poker Tracker now supports importing hands from the entire iPoker Network. A limited selection of player avatars are available. They do offer a mini-table view which can be useful for multi-tabling.
There are quite a few multi-table tournaments that run on the iPoker Network at regular intervals. The biggest of which is a $25k guaranteed with a $100+10 buyin. They have special tournaments for entry into large live events such as the WPT and Aussie Millions. If you qualify for their VIP program you receive entries into week and monthly freerolls for prize pools of up to $10k.
Customer Support: 9 of 10 - Excellent
Titan Poker has live chat support from within their software, telephone support, and email support. The wait time on live chat can be somewhat long, but it is convenient to get immediate responses to your questions.
Company Ethics: 7 of 10 - Good
Being licensed by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission holds Titan Poker up to a certain level of expectations. Their customer support representatives are helpful and knowledgable.
Site Promotions: 5 of 10 - OK
Initially Titan Poker had a lot of good bonuses and a solid VIP program, but over time they increased the bonus and VIP requirements to a point where they are just not worth it. Many other sites have much better bonuses and VIP programs so the time required to invest in Titan has a much lower expected value.
Overall Review: 6.6 of 10 - Good
While not quite as trafficked as it was before they banned US players, Titan Poker still is popular enough to have some good games going at all times. Their bonus system and VIP program have become worse than what they were, but they are still fairly decent and add value to playing there. It's definitely a site worth checking out and seeing if you like playing there.
