Compared to some of the other sites, Titan Poker is considered a smaller
poker room. Regardless of size, Titan Poker has some decent promotions and
seems to cater mostly to the European players. The site offers options in
numerous types of currency for deposits and cashouts, which is a good thing
for European players. The games are considerably soft and a good place for
players to build up their bankroll or do some bonus hunting
.
Room Popularity
Unlike the some of the bigger rooms, Titan Poker does not have any of
the high profile players sponsoring their site. They do have one of the
hottest swimsuit models, Joanna Krupa, as a sponsor where they run an
exclusive freeroll for $500,000 in cash prizes and a flat pay out structure
where the top 300 get paid. As with other sites this freeroll prize money
is a restricted prize where the player is expected to play a certain
number of raked hands in order to clear. It is typical of many freerolls
for other sites.
Game Software
The software is decent enough and manageable to run on a laptop or
desktop computer. As with most sites, simply click the download link and
the software will automatically install itself on your computer. For the
most part the software is very stable, but at times can freeze when starting
up. Unfortunately, the only way to restart the program is to reboot your
computer that can be a pain at times. There have also been a few times where
the software starts to lag and you can be disconnected while holding your
pocket pair.
Site Security
Titan Poker is run via the iPoker network, which uses the standard 128-bit encryption to
secure communication between the room and your software client. Other than that however,
there are not other featured security measure that they take.
Cash and Tournament Games
The players on the site are fairly soft and usually are the prototypical
weak tight players. Isolation raises can be very effective and it can be easy to pick
times to steal blinds. Depending on the feel of the table it is can be relatively
easy to pick up small pots here and there, especially in short handed no-limit
games. Many of the players have pretty straightforward styles. There is some
trapping and a couple of players can be timid and slow play strong hands.
The types of games in Titan are very similar to other websites. They offer
Hold 'Em, Omaha, Omaha Hi-Lo, Stud, and Tournaments. Titan also has side games
vailable such as blackjack, roulette, Caribbean Poker, Craps and Deuces Wild.
Titan Poker offers different varieties of the games from Limit, No-Limit,
Pot-Limit, Heads-up, and Sit and Go's. One of the downsides of the site is
the lack of high stakes. The highest stakes that they have available are
$50/$100 with the lowest at .05/.10 for Limit. No Limit games are topped
at $10/$20 and the lowest are .02/.04.
Bonus Codes and Promotions
Titan Poker has a WPT satellite event, where players can qualify for a seat to
participate in the WPT Legends of Poker event. Titan POker pays for the Main Event
buy-in, flights and accommodations. The direct buy-ins are available for $300+ $15
for the satellite, but players can get a free seat for that game by winning one
of their Sit N' Go satellites and Daily Multi-Table qualifiers. Titan Poker also has
monthly $100,000 Guaranteed Prize Tourneys where players can qualify through one
of their daily tourneys or a direct buy in for $200.
For new players, Titan Poker has a 100% match bonus up to $500.
This bonus is moderately difficult to clear and is recommended for $1/2 limit or $0.50/$1.00 no limit players.
Customer Support
Support is fairly decent, albeit sometimes creepy. You have the option of either
sending them an email or clicking on the online support button at the bottom
of the main lobby window. Sometimes the customer support staff will appear
without your request. If you choose the latter, a representative is quick to
response to any concerns that you may have. It is great that they are very
quick at assisting customers, but sometimes they lack some of the answers that
you are looking for. But I guess its better to get a quick response than
nothing at all.
Rake
The rake at Titan is fairly standard, although they don't offer as many player
points per rake as many of the other sites do. Finding out the rake structure and
promotion structure is a little hard to do with Titan's website.
Banking
A good amount of deposit methods are offered at Titan, with funding sources such as:
NETeller, ePassporte, Firepay, eChecks, Citadel, Click2Pay, Moneybookers, phone cards,
bank drafts, wire transfers and Visa/Mastercard.
Conclusion: Decent Overall Site
Overall, the site is fairly decent with lots of great promotional offers. Titan Poker does not have the all of the fancy extras and features on sites like PokerStars and Party Poker, but it does have good options for those looking to play in small limits and European players.
Final Result: We give Titan Poker a final overall score of 7.1 out of 10.
