By belonging to the Cake Poker Network, this poker room has a lot more going for it than most of the startup rooms we've seen in the last few years. There are plenty of tournaments going on at any given time, and the ring games are full from the micro-stakes games all the way to some of the bigger tables topping out at 400nl during non-peak hours. During peak hours it is not unusual to see regular games in the 600-1k NL range.

The financial security and stability with the poker room is solid with their partnerships with Cake Poker as well as Sportsbook.com. The company as an entity has been around for over 12 years and is not a fly by night operation, so players can feel comfortable that they are dealing with a company that doesn't have any black marks against it in their history, and that they've had many satisfied customers for a number of years.

Although the Cake Poker Network had a reputation for having nothing but donkeys all the way up to some of the mid-stakes games, times have been changing. Since there are rakeback available for Players Only (and the Cake Network) many decent regulars simply grind out a living now at the site winning marginally and taking in the sizeable rakeback. The games below the $100 NL level (and usually the $100 NL tables during peak hours) on the whole look very soft and most tight aggressive players will have no trouble grinding out a profit.

Site Software: 7 of 10 - Good

The software at Players Only is not very impressive considering the standards that other poker rooms have updated their sites within the recent year. The table graphics are not vector based nor do they have multiple sized images to draw from, so things can look very stretched if you resize the tables much. The lobby is your standard list of games and has tabs at the top to filter through game types, like Hold'em and Omaha and whether you want to play Pot Limit, Limit, or No Limit. There is a table filter option at the bottom, but it really doesn't do much outside of filter tables by heads up, 6max, or full ring. Players can pick their own pre-designed avatar that are actual pictures of real people from different angles, which gives the room a little bit of interest but on the whole became distracting (some pretty "enhanced women" were at the tables) and the classic "top down" view was actually very pleasant to interface with while playing.

Customer Support: 9 of 10 - Excellent

This poker room just might have the best customer support in the industry. No other poker room offers the wide variety of options available like Players Only offers to its members. If you have a problem, simply go to the ".com" website, login, and click on the help button. From there you can choose to chat online with a customer care rep live, or send in an email, or even make a phone call to someone that will answer the phone. The reps seemed helpful and knowledgeable, so if you're the kind of person that needs a lot of help in life, then this might be your poker room of choice.

Company Ethics: 9 of 10 - Excellent

Players Only is a company that believes in the United States players and goes out of its way to help them with their customer care. On top of that they've backboned their traffic with a reputable and popular poker room network, and their sports book is handled by one of the best in the industry. Putting that all together, it's a solid company to do business with.

Fortunately there is some really solid promotions at Players Only, from the aggressive rakeback to the very popular 100% deposit bonus up to $600. Currently they are also offering 10% free cash immediately to your account as soon as you make your initial deposit. There is also promotions for their sportsbook that are ongoing such as the "half juice Fridays" which make wagering a little cheaper on sports. For site regulars they have the Players Only VIP promotion where players are awarded "cashback" which allow them to buy into special freeroll tournaments and games, as well as a "Frequent Player Point" program tied into the "Gold Chips" promotion.

There's fantastic customer support and a good solid amount of traffic through their partnership with the Cake Network. The site promotions are pretty interesting and new players might want to check out this room when looking for a new place to play.
