<< I have to check here in order to respect the Jack and possibly Six. A Jack is a perfectly ok hand for someone to be drawing with, so there is a decent chance someone has one. I would also assume that given the threatening nature of the flop, with a flush and straight threat that anyone not drawing would have wanted to raise me on the flop.

<< At least we did gain some value from this hand, which is that btaylor is a fish, due to his weak starting hand requirement (plays Q9), the call on the flop with the midpair + gutshot draw and the call on the river. What is important to note is that btaylor bet the turn, so I've marked him as someone who will bluff a straight threat. TR3612 didn't raise on the flop either in last position with his open ended draw, so that is something very note worthy as well.

<< I've really been put on a drawing hand here with AK. I can no longer count a King as an out, since that completes the straight for someone holding the Jack. However, if a Jack lands, that does complete my straight, so I have 8 outs between my Ace and Jack. That said, I still have to worry about the flush draw, so I really only have 6 outs - which puts me at a 3:1 underdog. However, I've got 10:1 pot odds here, so it's worth a call.

<< Given that there are three other players still in, I'm going to assume that one of them is drawing with the Jack, so I really only have at best 5 outs right now. With 5 outs on the turn, I'm a 8:1 underdog here, but I'm squeaking by on 8:1 pot odds here, so I'll call again. Note that when you have an Ace as an out, you often need to be careful because an Ace will often give someone else a two pair, since Ace/X is a common hand..
<< In this particular hand however, it's more unlikely (but not impossible) that someone is calling with A9 or AT. AQ would have undoubtedly raised on the flop, so I'm going to assume that my Ace out is indeed a true out and I'm not drawing dead on it.

<< When there's two suits on the table and someone raises from late position, that doesn't usually get a lot of respect from me. It seems that the majority of players will raise on their draws for the 'free card', so I don't regard the late raise as strength. << I'm simply going to assume that the Two didn't help benny (so much for that line of thinking eh?) because no one short of fbcrep and Rael1 are raising A2 on the flop. So, I'm left figuring out if he's still raising on the draw, if he flopped a set or two pair or is pulling a 34 on me. The set and two pair doesn't make sense, since he was willing to raise me on the flop but didn't cap it, so it's a bit unlikely. So, I'll raise again here and give him a chance to cap the bet ..

<< Ah, now we are in isolation mode. There's a good chance that DAYJOB is on a semi-steal here, given the pre-flop raise near the button, so I'm going to let him know that I've got a good hand for a number of reasons. One, is that there's good value in the bet. Two, is that it tells him right now that I've got a good hand. This is important because if the flop comes junk and I bet, he's not going to give me a lot of respect - which is what I want heads-up. I'd rather win the pot ..

<< I really hate these situations here, when you have a lose cannon in front of you and people to act behind you. << Another pet peeve of mine is people who don't pay attention or have no balls. Shaku is a pretty tight player, so I would assume he's got plenty of time to observe the table and to realize that Rael is a cannon that needs to be called down, but shaku meekly gives up what is probably his AK here. So for you guys watching this out there, you should often call down cannons even with marginal hands (in limit games), because more often you'll have the better hand in the long term.

<< It's like the battle of the junk players... who has the worst hand?
