What Does Pot Limit Mean?
Pot Limit means that the minimum bet in a Pot Limit Omaha game will be the same size as the big blind up to the size of the pot. As an example, if a player wants to bet the minimum at a $5/$10 table, the bet must be at least $10. Suppose the want to max the bet, the bet would have to equal the pot size. If the pot was $100, the next max bet would be limited to $100. If the next player wants to bet the pot again, the player would need to call the original bet of $100, and would then be able to bet $200, putting a total of $300 into the pot. Playing Pot Limit Omaha - The Rules

Pot Limit Omaha is a derivative of Texas Hold'em with a few modifications. The game is played with four hole cards and five community cards, and each player is required to use two of their hole cards in combination with three of the community cards to make their best five-card poker hand. The player options in PL Omaha are the same as any other game, meaning players will receive an opportunity to check, bet or folds depending on the situation.

To begin play, the two players to the immediate left of the dealer will post their blinds the same as Hold'em. As an example, if the game is $2/$4, the first to the left of the dealer would post the small blind equivalent to $2 and the player next to him would post the big blind, equivalent of $4. Once the blinds have been posted, the dealer will begin to deal each player four cards face down. After the deal is complete, the player to the left of the big blind will open the betting round by checking or betting. Each player will take their turn in a counter clockwise motion.

Once the betting has ceased, the dealer will deal three face cards face up in the center of the table. Another betting round will take place once the flop has been dealt. After the betting found for the flop has finished, the dealer will deal the fourth community card, followed by a third round of betting starting with the first person in the game to the left of the big blind.

The final and fifth community card is dealt after the third betting round is complete. Players will have one more opportunity to bet, raise, check or fold followed by the showdown.
