World Poker Tour Launches Womens Tour

The World Poker Tour (WPT) announced this week that it has launched an all-female poker league and tour, dubbed WPT Ladies (WPTL).The tour will consist of five stops – two on the west coast, two on the east coast, and the Championship in Las Vegas – beginning on January 20, 2008.Buy-ins will range from $300 to $1,500 plus entry fee.
The WPTL Championship final table at the Bellagio will be filmed and broadcast on the Game Show Network, the WPT’s new home after several years on the Travel Channel.
Additionally, the WPTL has partnered with Susan G. Komen for the Cure to help in the fight against breast cancer.Fifteen percent of the $1,500 Championship buy-in will go to the foundation.Players will also have the opportunity to make donations at each WPTL event.

January 20 — $300 + $50 — Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa - Atlantic City, NJ
February 2-3 — $970 + $95 — Commerce Casino - Los Angeles, CA
March 16 — $300 + $30 — Bay 101 - San Jose, CA
March 29 — $530 + $70 — Foxwoods Resort & Casino - Mashantucket, CT
April 13-14 — $1,500 + $90 WPT Ladies' Championship – Bellagio - Las Vegas, NV (final table will be taped April 25)
