World Poker Tour Adds Event
By Joe Zusman | April 11, 2008
Last year marked the debut of the WPT Spanish Championship on the World Poker Tour. Won by Austrian Markus Lehmann, it was, by all accounts, quite successful. This season, the WPT’s seventh, the event was nowhere to be found on the schedule. Have no fear European poker fans, as the WPT announced this week that it has been inserted back into the schedule.
Casino Barcelona will once again play host to the Spanish Championship, which will be held May 21-27.
“The WPT Spanish Championship was a great success last year,” said Steve Lipscomb, WPT Founder, President and CEO. “We are honored to extend our partnership with Grup Peralada and return to Spain with a regional tour stop that Catalonians can call their own.”
