The World Poker Showdown (WPS) has inked a deal with United Sports Media, a Los Angeles based media and television syndication firm, and World Poker Entertainment Network to broadcast its next four major events internationally.

The first event will be the WPS Costa Rica Poker Showdown at the Hotel Amapola in Jaco Beach, Costa Rica from October 20 through October 28, 2007.The WPS Bahamas “Deepstack” Poker Open is next from January 7 through January 19, 2008 at the Cable Beach Resort in the Bahamas.The WPS Carribean Poker Cruise will be held March 30 through April 6, 2008 aboard the Freedom of the Seas, and the final stop will be the WPS Ocean World Poker Showdown from May 9 through May 18 at the Ocean World Casino in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.The WPS Costa Rica Poker Showdown will air in December 2007.

United Sports Media president Rod Myers stated, “We are very pleased to have been chosen to produce and syndicate these events. I’ve known Herb [Van Dyke, president of the WPS] for years and he has always put a world class product on the table. I feel this will be a great partnership and together, we can truly place all of the World Poker Showdown events directly on the map as one of the great poker tournaments to play in.”

Herb Van Dyke was similarly excited. “Our events are perfect for this network,” the WPS president said.WPS promises to continue bringing exciting venues in exotic places. With Rod’s production expertise and his love for poker this will prove to be a very popular TV Show”.
