TherookieQQ9 Wins Party Poker Birthday Tournament for more than $230,000

At 12:23 am EST, player TherookieQQ9 eliminated bjorn1106 to take home the $233,775 first prize for the August 10th Party Poker Birthday Celebration $1,000,000 Guaranteed Prize Pool No Limit Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament. Here are the top ten finishers and their respective prize monies (all dollar values are in USD.)

With a $640 fee including buy-in, 2,078 entrants spelled out a $1,246,800 prize pool in the special edition of the biggest weekly Party Poker tournament.
The final table began with 7 players in favor of a deal and one player – 7th place finisher Riichardoo – virtually spamming the chat box in an effort to get the players against a deal to at least look at the numbers. But it was not to be and the biggest Party Poker prize pool in 2008 was split up through outright victories and defeats. With each player entering final table play with more than 2 million in chips and blinds beginning at 50,000/100,000, players had enough chips to avoid the usual fold/all-in final table style of play.
