Royce Clayton Hosting Poker Celebrity Bowl

Major League Baseball (MLB) shortstop, Royce Clayton, will serve as host for the 2008 Poker Celebrity Bowl at Harrah’s Ak-Chin in Phoenix, Arizona on February 1.Fifty percent of the prize pool will go to benefit the Royce Clayton Family Foundation, which raises awareness for sickle cell anemia, helps battered women, and aids homeless children, amongst other services.
Several celebrities are slated to participate, including:
• Jimmy Rollins – 2008 MLB National League MVP
• Geoff Jenkins – MLB outfielder
• Luis Gonzales – MLB outfielder
• Bob Lanier – NBA Hall of Famer
• William Garson – Actor, Sex and the City
• Montel Williams – talk show host
Poker pros Robert Williamson III, Chris Ferguson, Jamie Gold, and Annie Duke are also scheduled to play in the tournament.
The buy-in is $1,000 with $200 re-buys.The top ten finishers will win cash and the winner will also win a seat at the 2008 WSOP Main Event.
