Some of the notable live and online pros who cashed in the tournament include: Huck Seed, Eddy Scharf, “PearlJammed”, Steve Zolotow, “dmmikkel”, and “Nordberg”.
FTOPS X began back on November 5th with the Mike Matusow-hosted, 6-Max No Limit Hold’em event. “davin77” cashed for $195,757.30 in this first tournament after defeating a field of 5,124 players.
The largest FTOPS X tournament – in terms of player numbers – was the $120 + $9 No Limit Hold’em Knockout event which featured a prize pool of $500,000. 7,000 players paid the buy-in and this pushed the total prize pool up to $700,000; “slaskovic” took the largest share of the $700K prize pool after winning $136,164 for first place.
The biggest buy-in featured in the FTOPS X was the $5,000 + $200 No Limit Hold’em 6-Max tournament. The guaranteed amount of money offered was $2 million, but this amount grew to $2.5 million after 500 people paid the hefty buy-in. “amak316” made the biggest cash of the FTOPS X after winning $550,000 in this expensive two day tournament.
The Full Tilt Online Poker Series started in August, 2006 and is held once every three months. Since its inaugural running, the FTOPS has managed to grow from an event which offered $2 million in guaranteed money to one which featured over $15 million in guaranteed cash during FTOPS X. The top prize in the Main Event has also gone up since the first event as the winner of the original FTOPS earned $161,480 while Julian Verse earned the sum of $450,708 for winning FTOPS X.
Full Tilt Poker is already gearing up for another FTOPS and they plan to start this one in early February.
