If you’re going to donk it up in a tournament, you might as well donk it up for a good cause.Such was the case last Friday when 215 poker players, pros and amateurs alike, flocked to Caesars Palace in Las Vegas for the inaugural Jennifer Harman Charity Poker Tournament.All proceeds, aside from the fees set aside to pay the staff, went to support the Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (NSPCA).

After the $300 buy-ins, the $200 re-buys, and the $200 add-ons, the tournament raised almost $102,000 for the charity.Kirk Morrison won a $10,000 World Series of Poker Main Event seat as the last man standing and proceeded to pledge five percent of his winnings to the Nevada NSPCA.

But the donations did not stop with the poker tournament.A live auction, emceed by Robert Williamson III and Daniel Negreanu, and a silent auction were held, which contributed $23,500 to the cause.All told, the tournament, auctions, and other donations brought in $128,000 for the NSPCA.
