PokerStars Announces the Asia Pacific Poker Tour

PokerStars has the European Poker Tour, and now it’s expanding its reach eastward.The online poker giant has announced the creation of the PokerStars Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT), which will consist of stops from Korea to Australia.
The first event will run August 23-26 in the Philippines at the Hyatt Hotel and Casino Manila.The second even will be September 27-30 at the Sheraton Walkerhill Hotel and Casino in Seoul, South Korea.More events are on tap, but have yet to be scheduled.The Star City Casino in Sydney, Australia will host the $5,000 buy-in Grand Final in December.
Players in the PokerStars APPT will also have the opportunity to participate in tourism experiences in and around the host cities, as tour officials are coordinating with local tourism boards to add more than just poker to the tour.
PokerStars will be running both cash qualifying satellites and freerolls beginning in July.
