Poker Tracker, PokerOffice Have Competition
By Kevin Felix | June 30, 2007
For quite some time, there have been two major software tools to help online players analyze their games: Poker Tracker and PokerOffice. Now, the folks behind the popular poker training software, Poker Academy, have introduced a third option, called Poker Academy Prospector.
Prospector is very similar to both Poker Tracker and PokerOffice, in that it allows you to import hand histories from many of the top online poker rooms into a database, and then breaks down the data in various formats so that you can analyze how you played. It includes all the analyses that users of the other software tools are used to, such as performance reports, bankroll tracker, player versus player stats, and more.
While the software is nicer looking than its competitors, it lacks a heads-up display feature, so it is not possible to view the statistics of your opponents directly on the tables as you play.
Prospector also fully integrates with the Poker Academy software so that users can practice on Poker Academy, analyze their hands in Prospector, and even use the data to create new AI opponents.
The software currently retails for $49.Poker Academy Pro customers receive a $10 discount.
Poker Academy Prospector supports Absolute Poker, Full Tilt Poker, Party Poker, the Microgaming Network, Poker Stars, UltimateBet, and the Ongame Network.
