payTru Gone at PokerStars

Home >Poker News >2007 >December >payTru Gone at PokerStars

Date: December 10, 2007
By: Dan K.

In February 2007, PokerStars rolled out a new funds transfer method for its poker room, the payTru Visa debit card, which allowed U.S. players to both deposit and withdraw from their accounts easily.  Ten months later, PokerStars has dropped it, much to the chagrin of American customers.

PokerStars will still permit deposits with payTru through December 14, but will not allow any cashouts after December 10.  Any cashout initiated before the 10th will be processed by December 13.

U.S. players still have a solid option in Instant eChecks, however, that will allow them to deposit and withdraw funds without the need for an intermediary e-wallet.  PokerStars seems to really want players to use eChecks, as it is currently offering a 50% deposit bonus up to $50 (one time only) for using this method.
