Party Poker is giving away Big Prize Packages
By Kevin Felix | December 5, 2008
Party Poker will be offering its members the chance to win huge prize packages to land-based events throughout the month of December. There are three locations which they will be sending their players to: the Party Poker Irish Poker Championship, Asian Poker Tour Philippines, and the Party Poker World Poker Showdown (held in the Dominican Republic).
The Party Poker Irish Poker Championship will be the first major European poker tournament in 2009 and it takes place on January 2-9. The event is held in the prestigious Radisson SAS Hotel and all accommodations will be taken care of for those who earn a prize package to the Irish Poker Championship. The prize packages for this tournament are worth a total $5,000 and this includes the $2,800 buy-in to the main event and $1,000 in spending money.
Some of the high profile players taking part in this year’s event include Padraig Parkinson, Mike Sexton, Neil Channing, and 2008 champion Jude Ainsworth. After finishing in first place in the Irish Poker Championship, Ainsworth pocketed over $230,000 for the win.
The Asian Poker Tour Philippines is held in Manila at the Dusit Thani Manila Hotel from January 27th to February 1st. This is one of the Asian Poker Tour’s biggest events and commonly sees stars such as Doyle Brunson, John Juanda, and Johnny Chan take place in the tournament. Players can win their way into the Philippines event through the $6,000 prize packages that Party Poker is giving away; they include the $2,700 main event buy-in, $2,500 in spending cash, and hotel accommodations at the Dusit Thani Manila Hotel.
The last land-based event people can win prize packages for is the Party Poker World Poker Showdown, which will take place on January 23rd, 2009 at the Dominican Republic’s Sun Village Resort. Players have a chance to win a $6,500 prize package for this event, which includes the $2,650 main event buy-in, $1,500 in spending money, and a seven-night stay at the Sun Village Resort. Rolgues Rodriguez was the main event champion last year and he earned $25,462.
Players still have a chance to win prize packages to any of these events through both main satellites and sub-satellite tournaments. The main satellite for the Party Poker Irish Championship happens on Sundays, the main satellite for the APT Philippines tournament occurs on Sundays and Wednesdays, and the Party Poker World Showdown main satellites take place on Thursdays. People can also buy into some of the sub-satellites for just $1.
