Pacific Poker to Hold $3 Million Tourney
By Kevin Felix | February 22, 2008
Pacific Poker may not be joining the online poker series fun just yet, but it is doing its part by hosting a huge guaranteed prize pool tournament. At $3 million guaranteed, the World Poker Crown tournament should prove to be one heck of a contest.
It costs $1,050 to enter, but players can work their way up through satellites. At the lowest level, the Level 3 satellites, the multi-table tournament buy-ins are just $1.20 or $3.From those, advance to Level 2, which also have direct buy-ins, depending on the exact tournament, of $5.50, $11, $22, $52.50, or $105.Finally, make it through those, and you are one step away from the Final. The Level 3 satellites have buy-ins of $52.50 and $105.
There are also sit-and-go satellites, which are generally pricier, as there is no way to work one’s way up the ladder.Three buy-ins are available: $105 (10 seat), $210 (5 seat), and $525 (heads-up).
At the World Poker Crown Final, the last eight players left standing will be flown out to Barcelona to compete live for the Crown and the $1 million first prize.
