By Rocco Havel | December 18, 2007
It has been tried before, with zero success. But another rake free online poker room started up this week, ready to give it another go.Interestingly, however, this one is brought to you by the folks at Card Player magazine.
The site, called SpadeClub.com, will cost $19.99 per month to join, and in another twist, will offer no cash buy-in games.Instead, the contests will consist completely of freeroll tournaments with total prize pools of $100,000 per month.
For the first couple months, SpadeClub is in beta testing mode and is free for all players. The site simply asks that people provide feedback so that the poker room can be improved.A $75 freeroll will run every weekday during the beta test, a $500 freeroll will go each Saturday, and a $1,000 freeroll will close out the week on Sunday.
