Learn Daniel Negreanus Secrets
By Neal Farran | May 28, 2008
Poker training websites are the popular thing in poker education nowadays.Started primarily by internet players and featuring primarily internet players as their instructors, most of them are quite good. For the most part, however, they are the same, offering instructor commentary on their own online poker sessions, articles, and message boards.Enter Daniel Negreanu.Negreanu opened his own training, PokerVT.com, site last week, giving poker players a chance to peer into his poker mind.
The site features online poker sessions just like the other sites do, but as of now does not feature articles or a message board. It does have several offerings, however, that make it stand out.As a sort of super-sized narrated poker session, PokerVT has videos of actual live games with a mix of amateurs and pros at the table. Each player is miked up so that his thoughts on the hand can be recorded in real-time.So that the players do not hear each other, they all wear headphones.Negreanu himself pauses the action (after the fact, not during the real hand) to add his commentary.
Additionally, Negreanu provides poker lessons for players of all skill levels, similar to something one might seen on a DVD.
Supporting Negreanu in the endeavor are PokerVT’s other instructors: Annette Obrestad, Adam Junglen, Justin “BoostedJ” Smith, Paul Wasicka, JC Alvarado, and Professor Charley Swayne.
