As is now becoming usual, Party Poker had to cover up for a shortage of participants for the Sunday $300,000 Guaranteed Tournament, which was topped this week by Dutch player KvGalen.

This week’s $300,000 Guaranteed No Limit Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament at Party Poker had 1,362 contenders – almost 100 less than last week. Perhaps poker players are making the most of the last days of summer before returning to the tables for the long, cold winter nights? Never mind the missed sunshine – those who stayed in and played poker were treated to a juicy lay-over as Party Poker forked out over $27,000 to complete the guaranteed prize pool.

The tournament lasted a total of 7 hours and 16 minutes, and player KvGalen came on top – interestingly, he played the High Roller $30K Guaranteed at Party Poker on the same day, and he finished 7th for an additional $3,125 on top of the first prize for the $300,000 Guaranteed.
