Two-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner, Jennifer Harman, hosted a charity poker tournament this past Sunday to benefit abandoned pets in her home state of Nevada. The tournament, which was held at Full Tilt Poker, raised $15,045 for the Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA).
The amount that went to the cause came from half of the $10 buy-in.The other $15,045 went to the prize pool.153 places paid out, as more than 3,000 players participated.First place went to “jzeeeee,” who won over $3,200.Many of the Full Tilt pros played, but only one, Amanda “Mandy B” Baker, placed in the money.Only a handful even finished in the top 1,000.Harman herself finished in the middle of the pack, in 1,434th place.
In 2007, Harman hosted a live gala to raise money for the Nevada SPCA.That event was more ambitious than this one, raising over $130,000.
