Hot upcoming European tournaments

Kicking off is the European Poker Tour, already underway in Barcelona. Sponsored by Poker Stars, it looks to be as successful as last year’s. With 490 players already registered out of a maximum of 600, the Barcelona event looks like a sellout already, no mean feat if you remember the buy-in is €8,000. Many high-profile players have already signed up, including WSOP champ Katja Thater, Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier, Annette 'Annette_15' Obrestad, Greg Raymer, Humberto Brenes, and Isabelle Mercier
The fourth season of the EPT will include tournaments in London, Baden, Dublin, the Bahamas, Dortmund, Copenhagen and Warsaw, culminating with the EPT Grand Final in Monte Carlo in April 2008.
Close on the heels of the EPT is the 1st World Series of Poker Europe, starting on September 10 in London. We will be reporting closely on it, so stay tuned!
And just when it seemed the fun was over, VC Poker is staging the European Championship of Online Poker (ECOOP), with a frankly appetizing guaranteed prize pool of $2.5 Million. The main events are made up of No Limit & Limit Texas Hold'em, Pot Limit Omaha and Omaha Hi/Lo, and the winners will receive a posh ECOOP bracelet fro extra bragging power. And there’s more: the top 50 players in the 10 Main events will win a seat in an exclusive $50,000 Freeroll, the winner of which will be crowned the 2007 ECOOP Most Valuable Player. The ECOOP will begin at VC Poker on November 30.
