Harrah’s Entertainment, through its subsidiary, Harrah’s Operating Company has named PokerTek its exclusive poker table provider. PokerTek, best known for its PokerPro automated table, will provide live, player-banked and fully automated tables to the owners of the World Series of Poker.

Financial details of the contract have not been disclosed, but considering Harrah’s has over 450 poker tables at its 50 casinos, this looks to be a substantial deal for PokerTek. The company has also garnered the rights to create a World Series of Poker branded PokerPro table. PokerTek’s booth at last year’s World Series, which provided live demonstrations of the PokerPro table, was one of the most popular stops at the poker lifestyles show.

“We believe that there is a market for automated poker throughout our properties," said Gerry Tuthill, Corporate Vice President of Table Games for Harrah's. "Poker continues to boom and many players who have learned the game enjoy the fast paced action PokerPro tables offer.”

James Crawford, President of PokerTek, is thrilled. “The World Series of Poker is a prestigious brand and we’re excited to work with it,” he said. “To package the WSOP brand with PokerPro products should accelerate player adoption and interest in automated poker.”
