Bodog Launches New Tournament Series
By Adam Ulick | February 14, 2008
Big tournament series are all the range now, with PokerStars, Full Tilt (FTOPS VII is currently underway), and UltimateBet battling it out for supremacy. Along comes Bodog now, throwing its hat into the ring with the Bodog Poker Open (BPO). Debuting March 3, the BPO will feature six events, culminating with the $500 buy-in, $25,000 guaranteed prize pool Main Event.
All told the six events will have a combined $75,000 guaranteed prize pool. All of the tournaments will be no-limit hold’em, although several formats will be used, including no-limit, fixed limit, pot-limit, and short-handed.
The winner of each preliminary event (the first five tournaments) will receive a free entry into the Main Event in addition to the prize money. The Main Event champion will also receive an engraved Omega Speedmaster watch.
