Bigger Prizes in PokerStars Hundred Grand
By Adam Ulick | March 25, 2008
At one time, the PokerStars Sunday Hundred Grand was the largest cash tournament on the face of the Earth. It still is. Now, it’s just bigger.
This past Sunday, PokerStars increased the maximum number of entrants in the $100,000 guaranteed prize pool tournament to 22,500. The original capacity back in July, when the tournament was first introduced, was 15,000. Now there is the opportunity for those who wish to play in a major weekend tournament, yet don’t have the bankroll for the Sunday Million, to take a shot at a hefty reward.
While the prize pool is guaranteed to be $100,000, PokerStars had no problem filling every $10 +$1 seat in the Hundred Grand, making the prize pool grow to $225,000. The winner nailed down over $20,000 for the eight hour marathon.
