In 2002, Antonio “The Magician” Esfandiari performed at the press conference where the World Poker Tour announced its launch.In 2004, he won the L.A. Poker Classic, becoming the sixth player to win over a million dollars on the World Poker Tour.

Now, in 2008, Esfandiari will represent the 84 players who have reached that winnings plateau, as he becomes the face of the WPT Poker-Made Millionaires.In this role, he will offer up poker tips and tricks via the web through blogs, WPT Live Updates, and videos.He will represent the World Poker Tour at live poker tournaments around the globe, starting this month at the even that made him famous, the L.A. Poker Classic.

“Antonio embodies the excitement that has become the WPT journey,” said WPT Founder, President and CEO, Steve Lipscomb. “This is the only sport in the history of televised sports that allows you to watch it, dream it and be it. Now WPT fans and poker enthusiasts can take the journey with Antonio as he leads the way for the next WPT Poker-Made Millionaire.”

Esfandiari is excited about his new responsibilities, saying, “…to now become the official spokesperson for a company that did so much for poker and me personally is an honor I hold very dear to me. It’s great to be a part of the WPT, who has been such an instrumental part of my poker journey.”
