WPT Emulating WSOP

Depending on how you look at it, you might say that the World Poker Tour is “ripping off” the World Series of Poker.  Or, you might call it an homage.  Either way, the WPT announced Tuesday that it will be awarding special bracelets to its 96 champions from the first six seasons in a special ceremony on April 21.

Tiffany & Co. designed the personalized titanium and diamond bracelets, which appear to consist of five separate sections linked by metal loops.  The WPT logo is etched prominently on the central section.  

The bracelets will be handed out at WPT Ceremony of Champions at the Bellagio’s “O” Theatre.  A private cocktail party will be held for players and VIP’s at 8:30pm, followed by the ceremony at 10:00pm.  Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten, the WPT’s commentators, will be the Masters of Ceremony.  The WPT’s website will air footage from the event.
