UltimateBet Opens Heads-Up Smackdown for Registration

Home >Poker News >2007 >July >UltimateBet Opens Heads-Up Smackdown for Registration

Date: July 18, 2007
By: Dan K.

Registration is now open for the new special event at UltimateBet, the Heads-Up Smackdown.  A 64-player, single-elimination, bracket-style tournament, the $530 buy-in event will award $11,200 to the winner.

Only 64 players will be included, so signup early (although if you miss it, there will be future Smackdowns).  The first round will begin August 4 and each successive week will see another round played until the final four players remain.  The final four will be contested during week five.  In addition to the winner, all players who make the quarterfinals will be in the money.

The champion will also receive a championship ring and a free entry into the next Smackdown.  He or she will also get the chance to participate in the Heads-Up Bracket of Champions at the end of year, a contest where the winner will then get to play against Phil Hellmuth in three round heads-up match.

Satellites are also available for those who wish to get on the action for less money.
