PokerStars Approaches Ten Billion Hands

PokerStars has dealt over 9.95 billion hands over the course of its existence, and management is fired up over the prospect of hitting hand number ten billion.  The poker room is giving away thousands of dollars via a number of promotions.

Reload Bonus

Through May 22, current customers can receive a 25% reload bonus up to $150 by entering the code “10Bhand” on their next deposit.  Additionally, through the end of the promotion period, PokerStars will be awarding double Frequent Player Points for all cash games and Sit-and-Go’s.  Players are given 180 days to clear the bonus.

Ten Billionth Hand

Those lucky players who are dealt into the ten billionth hand are in for a treat.  Every player but one will win $10,000.  That other player?  That person, the winner of the hand, will pocket $100,000.  Each player at the table will also receive a WCOOP Main Event seat.  On top of all that, prizes will be multiplied based on the players’ VIP levels, anywhere from a 15% increase all the way up to 200% for those with the highest VIP status.

Million Hand Milestones

Every million hands, PokerStars will also award prize money to those dealt cards at the milestone table.  Cash prizes range from $100 to $2,000 depending on the stakes of the table and who wins the pot.  The milestones only count at cash game tables and, just like with the ten billionth hand, the prizes will be multiplied according to VIP status.

Added Prize Tournaments

The May 20^th Sunday Million will see $250,000 added to the guaranteed prize pool and 25% of the participants will make the money instead of the traditional 15%.  The Sunday Warm-Up will also receive a $100,000 boost.

Freerolls

Four $1,000 freerolls will be held each day through the ten billion hand celebration.  Each will be password protected, but the password can be determined by answering a trivia question presented when players go to register.  It’s still free, but you have to do a little homework to qualify!
