Playtech’s 2007 Estimates Promising

Online poker software developer, Playtech, said this week that because of record monthly sales, it was “confident” that its 2007 earnings would meet analysts’ estimates.

While the final tallies are still being counted, median analyst estimates place 2007 profits at $68.8 million, based on estimated revenues of $102.8 million.  Compare this to the numbers for the first half of the year -- $29 million profit, $44 million earnings (both down approximately 5 percent) – and it is apparent that Playtech had a successful final six months of 2007.

Playtech’s poker network, iPoker, currently ranks fourth in terms of daily real money cash game players, behind PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker, and Party Poker.  PokerScout.com shows that the Ongame Network is hot on iPoker’s heels, and the battle for the fourth spot is getting close to a dead heat.
