Playtech Foresees Strong 2008

Home >Poker News >2008 >February >Playtech Foresees Strong 2008

Date: February 12, 2008
By: Dan K.

Online poker and casino software developer, Playtech, announced that revenues grew sharply in the final quarter of 2007 and it predicts continued success in 2008.

When excluding revenue from U.S. customers, who were banned from Playtech sites not long after the UIGEA passed, revenues grew 101 percent to $32.7 million.  The bulk of this was from casino gaming, whose revenue rose to $22.9 million in the fourth quarter.  The online poker division, which includes the Playtech-run iPoker network, brought in $9.4 million.

After leaving U.S. customers behind, the iPoker network shifted its focus to European and Asian players, scooping up many sites, including those from the Tribeca Tables and Tain networks, which had already concentrated on the non-U.S. online poker world.
