The Party Poker Million is back for a night

Home >Poker News >2008 >May >The Party Poker Million is back for a night

Date: May 28, 2008
By: Marylou

The good people at Party Poker have decided to send May off in style, culminating their May Madness tourney extravaganza with a chance to play for a share of $1,000,000. Qualifiers and satellites abound so everyone can grab a seat!

Throughout the month of May Party Poker has guaranteed every tourney on the site, and the cherry on top of this “May Madness” will be a $1 million guaranteed tournament on Saturday May 31st at 12.45pm EST.

This reminded us of the Party Poker Sunday Million of the good old days, so we enquired if it was making a comeback. Party Poker spokesman Warren Lush gave us the lowdown:

The $1 million guaranteed has been planned for quite a while: with our May Madness promotion providing $12 million up for grabs there had to be a big finale and so was born the idea of the million dollar tournament on a Saturday.

There's been a big build up to this and we're excited about it.

No return to the PartyPoker.com $1 million is planned at the moment, but you can never say never. We are happy with the 300K guaranteed that proves popular with players on Sundays.

As usual, Party Poker is making sure that everyone gets a chance to play and win in this exceptional tourney: players can enter qualifiers with as little as 250 Party Points (an option designed for cash players,) as well as satellites starting at $1. There are also qualifiers for $4, $8, $10, $35, $70 and a direct buy in of $600 + $40 for those with a large bankroll and little time to waste.

A PartyPoker.com spokesman commented on the many ways to buy in: "Whether you use PartyPoints, $1, or pay the direct buy-in of $600+$40, the routes in to the finale are endless. There is also country specific freerolls this week that provide the opportunity to win seats."

The tourney will have a championship-style blind structure: starting chip count will be 20,000, and blinds will start at 25/50 and go up every 20 minutes.
